mourner Like Ippocalyptica said, Itheist show a lot of promise snd skill where ever it is important and therefore dure ate a band to watch. I love their bleak and dissonant guitar (and bass guitar) driven atmospheres most. For my taste "Horned One" is the best song on Itheist and has the most interesting vocal performance. High time for a follow-up, Itheist. Favorite track: Horned One.

Bret I agree with Ippocalyptica about the Deathspell Omega comparisons, but feel that there is more than just of hint of DSO here. Why do albums like this not get more attention?

PannionSeer Muscular, mid-paced and slightly industrial blackened death that sounds like what the artwork depicts--an infernal horde violently desecrating a sacred refuge. This album was a total surprise, but a welcome one. Favorite track: Mankind In Extremis.

Ippocalyptica I know that most reviewers do not detect it, but in addition to certain obvious influences like Ulcerate and Akercocke, I detect hints of Deathspell Omega permeating the whole of Itheist. Given that I love those three bands, I was already predisposed to loving Itheist. Furthermore, though I have no way of knowing this until Itheist’s follow-up album is released, I have the sense that this is the band’s “kitchen sink” effort, where they have thrown everything at the listener in order to show the Favorite track: Mighty Father Of Rebellion.
